The small village of Arona used to be
the district town of a rural municipality. Nowadays it is the
administrative authority for the tourist centres of "Los Cristianos" and
part of "Playa de las Americas" as well. In the area wine, potatoes and
vegetables are grown. In the village, you find a mixture of old and
recent buildings. There are some popular restaurants in the village
centre, mainly visited by local people, which we always consider an
indication for good cooking.
Many people come from far away to eat, for example, goat or stewed
rabbit in the restaurant "Sindical". On the plaza in front of the "San
Antonio Abad" church you can taste the Canarian atmosphere.
The
large finca "La Cruz" is situated just a few hundred meters away from
the centre of town, where you get in less than 5 minutes walking. The
finca offers a wonderful view and total quietness. The premises have an
extension of about 15.000 sqm. and many fruit trees were planted.
The house has two apartments, one of
them on the first floor. The pool is situated in the garden and is quiet
large for a private pool: 12 x 8 m. Apart from that there is a
whirlpool and a sauna at your disposal, as well as plenty of sun beds.
On a large terrace, an open air sitting area in rural style with a
barbecue is being made. There is also a table for table tennis at your
disposal.
There are towels, bath towels, tea towels and
bedclothes at hand. These towels are not to be taken to the beach, so
please bring your own beach towels. The airport is about 15 minutes
away, the village of Arona only 1 minute, La Camella 5 minutes, the
beaches of Los Cristianos and Las Americas are situated at about 10 to
15 minutes. Renting a car is recommended.
Journey times by car
are: about 15 minutes to the airport, 1 minute to Arona, 5 minutes to La
Camella, between 10 minutes and 15 minutes to the beaches of Los
Cristianos or Las Americas. You will need a car.
Apartment 2 on
the first floor has two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, a kitchen
and a separate room with a washing machine, an iron board and iron as
well as various terraces. The living room is about 30 sqm large and
decorated very homely. It disposes of a separate dining corner. There is
satellite TV to receive programmes in digital quality. The living room
and one bedroom have a direct connection to the large sun terrace with
splendid views of the Atlantic. It is suited for max. 4 persons.
