The western stretch of the north coast of Tenerife is of great interest: there are banana plantations, lovely holiday spots down by the sea, historical town centres, fishing villages, ancient trees, rugged coastline, smaller beaches and a popular private zoo with the largest parrot breeding programme in the world: the Loro Park.

The city of Puerto de la Cruz (“Puerto”, for short) is the classic Canarian holiday resort. Holidaymakers have been coming here for over 100 years. They are looking for a mild climate, lush vegetation and a fantastic location on the edge of the Orotava Valley.

Here you can find extensive parks, and traditional little corners and period squares, as if the city were still a small coastal town. Throughout the year, the streets of Puerto de la Cruz are filled with a lively bustle. The atmosphere is relaxed and invites the visitor to relax and unwind too. It’s well worth a stroll through the town, to explore the historic buildings and, if you can, visit one of the many local festivals, pilgrimages or other popular events.

If you love the sea, this northern region of the Island has much to offer: small coves with volcanic sand, the Costa Martiánez lido with its seawater swimming pools, Playa Jardín and Punta Brava, etc. The Costa Martiánez lido is a significant work of the genius artist César Manrique, it’s a place where landscape and architecture are interwoven to create a lido of incomparable beauty and form. The Botanical Garden has plants from all five continents and is well worth a visit, as is the Loro Park with exotic flora and fauna from many different countries.

 

The "Villa Azul Celeste" holiday property is of the highest category, as it is a luxury holiday home. The wishes of the most demanding guest are met here. The total interior area is some 130 m² and is divided between a living room with a large dining area, a kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The whole property occupies grounds of some 350 m². There is a large sun terrace with eight sun loungers, parasol, and a built-in barbecue as well as other garden furniture. Guests at this house have exclusive use of the 5 x 3 m pool. 

The living room has comfortable sofas, a TV with satellite connection for the receipt of international radio and TV channels, as well as a DVD-Player. In addition, there is a radio with a CD-Player and an iPod Docking Station. There are six chairs at the dining table, and a further two can be added.

The bedrooms are spacious and have modern fittings. Two of the bedrooms have double-beds; the third bedroom has single beds. There are bunk-beds in the fourth bedroom. Comfortable mattresses ensure a good night’s sleep. The wardrobes are almost ceiling-height and partly walk-in. The bathrooms are fitted with a bath with shower, washbasin, WC and hairdryer. Bed linen, hand towels, bath towels and tea towels are provided in plenty.

The luxury kitchen would delight anyone, everything is at hand: ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, kettle. Guests receive a welcome basket on arrival to take care of the first breakfast. The Villa Azul Celeste house is a no-smoking property. However, smoking is permitted outside the house, on the terraces or in the garden.

It is possible to connect your laptop to the internet via a quick DSL broadband connection. There is also a game console from Nintendo Wii.
