The lush green "Orotava Valley” is located in the north of the island. Although the term "valley", for an area extending 10 x 11 km, is a little misleading. The Orotava Valley rises from the sea to a height of nearly 2,000 meters, almost to the edge of Las Cañadas, and El Teide, which at 3,718 m, is the highest mountain in Spain.
In 1799, the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt spent a week in Tenerife for research purposes before his somewhat longer South American trip. His route led from Santa Cruz to La Laguna, passed along the north coast to La Orotava, and on to Santa Ursula, and then up to the summit of Mount Teide. At the Humboldt panorama look-out point, (Mirador Humboldt), close to Santa Ursula, there is a plaque with the following elated words of the explorer, translated into Spanish:
"I have seen tropical landscapes where nature is great and rich in the development of organic forms. But having walked the banks of the Orinoco, the Cordilleras of Peru and the beautiful valleys of Mexico, I must confess never before to have beheld such a manifold, attractive and harmonious scene of greenery and mountains,... I can only compare this vision with the Gulfs of Genoa and Naples, but the Orotava Valley far exceeds them in size and richness of vegetation."
Once you see it, you will be as excited with this exclusive, luxurious house and its unique location as Alexander von Humboldt was, with the Orotava Valley. The house offers a fantastic view of the Orotava Valley and Puerto de la Cruz. It´s also very close to the sea, overlooking a beach that is accessible by a footpath. The clear view out over the Atlantic is unspoiled by roads or other houses. On the seaward terrace you can hear the sound of the surf.
The house was completed in 2010. It has a total floor area of 220 m². In addition to that, there are terraces of about 120 m², which almost entirely surround the house. The grounds extend to some 800 m².
There is a living room, a dining room, four bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms, a guest cloakroom, a reading area with a TV and a DVD player. The internal area is distributed mainly over two floors. Almost all the floors are of laminated wood. A children´s games room has been created in the basement area.
The living room is furnished with designer sofas and a TV with satellite connection to receive almost major international TV and radio channels in digital quality. There is also a radio with a CD player. There are six chairs at the dining table.
The bedrooms are spacious. The first bedroom has a double bed of 180 x 200 cm (2 mattresses each of 90 x 200 cm) and the second bedroom has a double bed of 160 x 200 cm (one mattress). The third bedroom has two single beds of 90 x 200 cm, which can be pushed together and the fourth bedroom has a bed of 150 x 200 cm. There are large wardrobes to take of your clothes during a longer stay.
The bathrooms are modern too. One bathroom has a bath and the other a shower. Plenty of bed linen, towels, bath towels and tea towels are provided.
The luxury kitchen is a delight, featuring: ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, central vacuum system. There is also a second dining table for four in the kitchen.
In a separate room there is a washing machine and tumble dryer, and an iron and ironing board. And the big feature: the house has its own water treatment plant. So there´s no need to buy water, as is normally necessary in coastal regions.
The house is provided with a broadband USB stick for guests who need internet access. For more information please click on the small, orange internet icon.
There is garden furniture on the sun terrace, and sun loungers too. A built-in barbecue is also provided. You can park your car in a fenced-off area. The "Panorama" house is a non-smoking property. You can, of course, smoke outside the house.
